Description

Even Windows Clients are not a problem to connect. The user is working with standard office applications, webbrowser, mail, etc.

We can see normal office clients typically in in the administration and in the secretariat, but " office works " naturally result also at many other places.

Needs

  • Programs and/or all data on a common file server, which is made available fast and secure (in the sense of Backup);
  • A possibility to make documents to other coworkers available. For example over Groupware functionality or over an Intranet Web server;
  • Communication over email and access to the Intranet and Internet.
  • Accessing databases, for example by using special applications based on MS-Access getting supplier or customer data over ODBC (This database can be an Oracle-DB).

Hardware

A typical office PC with network card.

Software

Microsoft Windows in all variations, MacOS. For special access to Internet or Intranet services specially software can be necessary:

  • Lotus Notes
  • ssh: for using strong encoding safe connections.
